\n\tThe first trailer for \u201cAvengers: Doomsday<\/a>\u201d is finally here.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter being shown to CinemaCon attendees in April, the full \u201cDoomsday\u201d trailer is now public and brings together nearly every hero in the MCU.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDoomsday\u201d is the culmination of the MCU\u2019s multiverse-crossing storytelling over the past seven years and three Phases since \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d released and became the second highest-grossing movie of all time. The team-up film brings together almost every major character from across the MCU to face its latest villain: Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.<\/a> in his Marvel return. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe trailer shows the Marvel heroes assembling as Doctor Doom prepares to wreak multiverse-crossing war on the heroes. Thor faces off against Doom and also reunites with Chris Evans\u2019 Captain America, making his long-awaited return to the MCU after \u201cAvengers: Endgame.\u201d Several of Fox\u2019s \u201cX-Men\u201d characters also officially cross over into the Avengers\u2019 universe, including Professor Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, Cyclops and Channing Tatum\u2019s Gambit from \u201cDeadpool and Wolverine.\u201d After hitting the big screen last year, the Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts are also back to help the Avengers save the multiverse.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDoomsday\u201d hits theaters on Dec. 18, followed by \u201cAvengers: Secret Wars\u201d a year later. The Russo Brothers, after directing \u201cInfinity War,\u201d \u201cEndgame\u201d and two \u201cCaptain America\u201d movies, are back to helm both upcoming \u201cAvengers\u201d films.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Iron Man sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos and save the world in \u201cEndgame,\u201d Downey Jr. is back \u2014 but not as his original, iconic Marvel role. The details for his turn as Doctor Doom haven\u2019t been fully explained, but it\u2019s likely that Doom is a variant of Iron Man from another universe. He briefly appeared, though his face was hidden, in the post-credits scene of \u201cFantastic Four: First Steps.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe list of which Marvel stars are returning for \u201cDoomsday\u201d is long, and they were all showcased in a slow-burn stunt in March 2025 that revealed the cast members\u2019 names on the backs of chairs. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Simu Liu and Tenoch Huerta are among the returning MCU characters for \u201cDoomsday.\u201d The Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts, the two most recent teams added alongside the Avengers, will bring back Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen and Lewis Pullman.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerhaps the most exciting castings for \u201cDoomsday\u201d are the past X-Men characters who are jumping into the MCU. They include Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum and Rebecca Romijn.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo build hype for \u201cDoomsday,\u201d Disney dropped four teaser previews tied to screenings of \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash\u201d in late 2025 and early 2026. The first confirmed that Evans would return as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, who now has a child; the second showed Hemsworth\u2019s Thor and his adopted daughter Love; the third gave the first look at Stewart\u2019s Prof. X, McKellen\u2019s Magneto and Marsden\u2019s Cyclops; and the fourth featured Wright\u2019s Black Panther, Huerta\u2019s Namor and Duke\u2019s M\u2019Baku meeting Moss Bachrach\u2019s Thing in Wakanda.<\/p>\n
