Brad Paisley hailed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce\u2019s Madison Square Garden wedding<\/a> as the \u201cleast pretentious\u201d wedding he\u2019s been to.<\/p>\n

\u201cIronically, it was one of the least pretentious weddings I\u2019ve ever seen or ever will see,\u201d the country music star told the Associated Press<\/a> on Saturday. <\/p>\n

\u201cI took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite it said, \u2018If you\u2019re getting this, you mean a lot to us.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner revealed that after receiving the invite, it was a \u201ccat and mouse game\u201d to find out the exact location of the celebration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can tell you roughly where it\u2019s going to be. We\u2019re not going to say which building. Here\u2019s the date and if you\u2019re in, we\u2019ll tell you more,\u201d Paisley recalled of what the invite said.<\/p>\n

The songwriter\u2019s defense comes after fans and some other celebs publicly bashed the extravagant wedding celebration \u2014 including Charles Barkley, who called the event a \u201ccrap show.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Paisley and Swift have a longstanding mentor-mentee relationship that dates back to the beginning of the pop star\u2019s career.<\/p>\n

He invited a 17-year-old Swift to be the opening act for his \u201cBonfires & Amplifiers\u201d tour in 2007, which helped jump-start her stardom as a young country artist.<\/p>\n
