Former New York Giants defensive end Josh Mauro snorted cocaine<\/a> and partied with several women \u2014 including a dancer \u2014 in the hours before his tragic death<\/a> earlier this year, according to a Phoenix Police Department case report obtained by The California Post Monday.<\/p>\n

Mauro met the dancer in mid-April, approximately one week before his passing, and invited her, a friend and two other women to his Arizona home in the early morning hours of April 23, the report stated.<\/p>\n

The woman told cops that once they got to Mauro\u2019s residence, he and his friend began snorting cocaine while \u201call of them\u201d started drinking tequila and listening to music, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The dancer said to investigators that after a few hours, she and the other women went to an upstairs bedroom to sleep, while Mauro and his friend \u201ccontinued to hang out downstairs.\u201d<\/p>\n

When she awoke, she said she discovered Mauro alone and apparently dead on the floor. She immediately called for emergency services and made attempts to revive him.<\/p>\n

She \u201cdescribed Joshua as being happy and a sweetheart\u201d prior to the incident, according to the report. She also \u201cmentioned he was on a bender for 4 days,\u201d and additionally stated she noticed Mauro \u201cwould get frequent nosebleeds and would sweat after snorting cocaine.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman told cops that once they got to Mauro\u2019s Arizona home, he and his friend began snorting cocaine Facebook\/Linzay Crawford<\/p>\n

A bottle cap with a white substance in it, a white powdery substance near a rolled-up dollar bill, \u201can abundant number of tissues with apparent blood on them,\u201d and a syringe in a trash can were all discovered near Mauro\u2019s body, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Following an autopsy, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner<\/a> stated Mauro had traces of \u201cfentanyl, cocaine, ethanol, and their metabolites as well as cannabinoids and caffeine\u201d in his system, and his death was ruled an accidental overdose.<\/p>\n

Mauro, who played one season for the Giants in his eight-year NFL career, was 35 years old at the time of his death.<\/p>\n
