HEBRON, Ky. —

A Siberian tiger that was transported from Seoul Zoo in South Korea to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium passed through the DHL hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Sarang arrived at the Columbus Zoo on July 16, after years of coordination between the Columbus Zoo and Seoul Zoo.

While Sarang will be living in Columbus, she was transported through the DHL hub at CVG Airport during her journey and cleared U.S. Customs in Greater Cincinnati.

“DHL Express is honored to support global conservation efforts by helping transport endangered species safely around the world,” said Laurice Bancroft, senior VP of operations for DHL Express Americas. “Moving an animal like Sarang requires much more than transportation – it requires careful planning, close collaboration, and the expertise of our international network. We’re proud to help connect organizations working together to protect vulnerable wildlife and contribute to conservation efforts that will benefit future generations.”

Both the Columbus Zoo and Seoul Zoo participate in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Global Species Management Plan, which helps maintain populations of Amur, or Siberian, tigers in professional care.

“We’re grateful to our partners at the Seoul Zoo for entrusting Sarang to our care and to WAZA and AZA for the years of collaboration that made her arrival possible,” said Tom Schmid, president and CEO of the Columbus Zoo. “Assuring that we will have tigers in accredited zoos so that we can help save these endangered species from extinction is a shared commitment that extends beyond any one institution or country, and we’re proud to be part of a global community working together to advance the long-term conservation of Amur tigers.”

Tiger transported from South Korea to Ohio passed through DHL CVG hub HEBRON, Ky. — A Siberian tiger…

[51
10060,291374,295996,328104,328090,25283,291372,79,328089,291375,201,40906
post-774579","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-wildlife","tag-autos","tag-demand-menu-subscribe","tag-email-weather-search","tag-noon-watch","tag-nowcast-wlwt-news","tag-page","tag-privacy-notice-term","tag-science","tag-talk-cincy","tag-use-nextfre","tag-wildlife","tag-wlwt
["GET
