Stefanos Tsitsipas ended a 16-month wait for \u2060an ATP Tour title when the Greek defeated Belgium’s Raphael Collignon 6-4, \u200c6-7(3), 6-3 to win the Swiss Open in \u200cGstaad on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The victory was \u200cTsitsipas<\/a>‘ first title since he beat Canada’s \u200cFelix Auger-Aliassime<\/a> in the Dubai Tennis \u200cChampionships final in March 2025 and the 13th ATP singles crown of his \u200ccareer.<\/p>\n

“I would like to start \u2060by mentioning how \u200camazing the final was today,” Tsitsipas said. “It’s \u200bbeen a long time so it does mean a lot to \u200bme.”<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old, a former world number three currently ranked 85th in the \u2060world, produced \u200ba strong serving performance in the two-hour 17-minute contest, firing four aces without a double fault. He won 21 \u200cof 29 points on his second serve and saved two of the four break points he faced.<\/p>\n

Tsitsipas took the opening set before first-time ATP Tour finalist Collignon<\/a> fought back to level the match in a second-set tiebreak. The Greek regained control in the \u200cdecider, however, securing the break he \u200bneeded to seal the title.<\/p>\n

The triumph \u200cprovides a timely confidence boost for two-time Grand Slam finalist Tsitsipas as he looks to build momentum ahead of the US Open, which \u2060begins on August \u206030.<\/p>\n
