According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-21\/apple-to-launch-upgrade-device-leasing-program-with-klarna-to-spur-sales\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bloomberg<\/a>\u2019s Mark Gurman, it will work similar to a car lease, with options to upgrade to a new device early, or keep or return the device at the end of the lease. Gurman says Klarna will be Apple\u2019s financial backer for the new program, which will require a soft credit check to sign up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Apple Upgrade is reportedly slated to launch on July 28th, replacing the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/shop\/iphone\/iphone-upgrade-program\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">iPhone Upgrade Program<\/a> and standard financing for new iPhones with a program available for most new iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch purchases. Apple Upgrade will offer 24-month leases for iPhones and Apple Watches, and 36-month leases for iPads and Macs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Budget devices like the base iPad, iPhone 16, Apple Watch SE, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/904705\/apple-macbook-neo-news-reviews-mods\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fast-selling MacBook Neo<\/a> will reportedly not be eligible. Unlike the current iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple Upgrade won\u2019t include an AppleCare subscription, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/966219\/apple-care-plus-price-increase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">also getting more expensive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The new upgrade program would come just a month after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/956903\/apple-price-increase-2026-macbook-ipad-mac-home-vision-pro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple raised prices<\/a> on nearly all of its products.
