Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The network averaged 7.73 million viewers over the course of the tournament with broadcasts airing on Fox, FS1 and Tubi. The ratings were a significant increase from the two previous World Cups in 2022, which saw an average of 3.588 million viewers, and 2018, which drew an average of 2.77 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo also set record ratings during the World Cup, drawing an audience of 23.9 million viewers for the final and making it the most-watched Spanish-language soccer broadcast in the U.S.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The tournament\u2019s ratings were helped by the exciting action that took place on the pitch during the World Cup and the stars that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/21\/sports\/world-cup-will-pay-off-for-soccer-in-us-but-real-growth-is-a-slow-burn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">helped captivate American sports fans<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbapp\u00e9, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Folarin Balogun became household names across the United States during the World Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"40053423\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/france-forward-kylian-mbappe-10-134850656_3ebd07.jpg\" alt=\"France forward Kylian Mbappe (10) in action during a semifinal match between France and Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.\" class=\"wp-image-40053423\"  \/>France forward Kylian Mbappe (10) in action during a semifinal match between France and Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
