Grigor Dimitrov<\/a>\u2019s run of 58 consecutive major appearances will come to an end later this month after the Bulgarian was forced to withdraw from the US Open<\/a> due to injury.<\/p>\n Since the Australian Open<\/a> in January 2011, the 34-year-old has competed in every Grand Slam tournament. The No. 21 player in the PIF ATP Rankings was one of only three active players, along with record 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic<\/a> and three-time winner Stan Wawrinka<\/a>, to have played in 50 or more consecutive majors.<\/p>\n At Roland Garros<\/a> in May, Dimitrov claimed sole ownership of the fifth-longest streak of major men\u2019s singles appearances in history. However, Dimitrov will not compete in New York this month due to a pectoral muscle injury he sustained when he led Jannik Sinner<\/a> by two sets to love at Wimbledon<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n Dimitrov\u2019s best result at Flushing Meadows came in 2019, when he reached the semi-finals.
