On Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201cCadillac Chronicles,\u201d<\/a> the recording artist, 44, shared the news after being asked what she was thankful for.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, first of all, I was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year, and I\u2019m so grateful to God,\u201d Nivea (born Nivea B. Hamilton) said. \u201cI\u2019ve been going through treatment, and everything is going great so far. And I expect it to continue. Amen, amen, amen,\u201d the artist shared with host Mr. Brian Freeman (seen here on the right). cadillacchroniclestv\/Instagram<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so clich\u00e9 to say you don\u2019t know the time nor the hour, but it\u2019s true and it just helped me put a lot of things in perspective, and I live in gratitude, like, religiously, and I\u2019m just grateful for everything,\u201d Nivea continued.<\/p>\n Leukemia is a cancer of the body\u2019s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and lymphatic system, per the Mayo Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n While there are many types of leukemia that exist, Nivea did not disclose what form she has.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m doing things I wanna do,\u201d she expressed. \u201cI\u2019m definitely back into my music, and I\u2019m going to school for audio engineering.
