\n\tAlthough the Duttons are still keeping things interesting on our screens, it\u2019s a whole new behind-the-scenes family for the cast of Taylor Sheridan<\/a>\u2018s western TV franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\tCole Hauser<\/a>, who reprises his role as Rip Wheeler, recently opened up about the \u201cchallenges\u201d of filming Dutton Ranch<\/a> without parent series Yellowstone<\/a> creator Taylor Sheridan at the helm, following Dutton Ranch creator, EP and director Chad Feehan\u2019s departure after completing the first season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere were challenges, you know?\u201d explained Hauser to Film Inside NYC<\/a>. \u201cNot having Taylor [Sheridan] there, for us to really kind of be able to work with these new writers, these new directors, these people\u2014verything had changed.<\/p>\n

\n\tHauser noted the \u201conly normality that we had whatsoever on set\u201d was himself and returning Yellowstone co-stars Finn Little and Kelly Reilly, as well as director Christina Alexandra Voros.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI enjoy a challenge, it certainly was a challenge. We worked our asses off this year,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think a lot of the outside noise or the thought of \u2018what\u2019s the weight of the show?\u2019 was really apparent to me at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the new on-set environment was an adjustment for Hauser, he explained that the experience brought the cast closer together while filming the Paramount+ spin-off series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was about putting my head down and working my ass off with what I had around me. The writers that we had, the new writers that we had, that we had to figure out on our feet how to really perform and tell a story. So, I\u2019m proud of what we accomplished, and I look forward to doing it again,\u201d said Hauser.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, SEAL Team creator Benjamin Cavell was tapped to take over as showrunner<\/a> for Season 2 of Dutton Ranch.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for why Feehan exited the series, sources tell Deadline he delivered as a writer, but faced challenges handling the bold-faced cast<\/a>, a key component of a showrunner\u2019s job.<\/p>\n
