(KPTV) \u2014 The Portland Fire said Friday that guard Sarah Ashlee Barker will miss the rest of the 2026 WNBA season after an MRI revealed a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The team said Barker will undergo surgery to repair the injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After the procedure, Barker will remain in Portland and continue rehabilitation under the care of the Fire\u2019s medical and performance staff, the team said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Barker has appeared in 26 games this season, making 15 starts. She is averaging career highs of 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Barker posted on Instagram thanking her coaches and teammates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cTo my teammates, what I\u2019d do to be out on the court with you all for the rest of the season,\u201d wrote Barker. \u201cThank you for the support you all have shown me. I genuinely do not have the words to express how much you each mean to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Barker also thanked the Portland fans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI am so blessed to be in Portland to start this next journey ahead. Thank you for caring for us athletes not just for basketball but us as individuals as well,\u201d wrote Barker. \u201cRose city\u2026.thank you for making this first year unforgettable.
