The new Comprehensive Orthopaedics in Connecticut<\/a> likely couldn\u2019t be truer to its name: it takes into account a patient\u2019s state of emotion.<\/p>\n

The state-of-the-art medical practice has the newest diagnostic imagery innovations, including an MRI, offers various kinds of physical therapy and has an urgent care center where patients are seen off hours without an appointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thinking is we want to be a one-stop shop,\u201d said orthopaedic surgeon and managing partner Dr. Adam Ferguson.<\/p>\n

The 24,000-square-foot facility is Southington at 601 N. Main Street and recently celebrated with a grand opening.<\/p>\n

They have other offices in Wallingford, Meriden, and Cheshire.<\/p>\n

Dr. Aaron Covey, managing physician of Comprehensive Orthopaedics & Musculoskeletal Care, said it is \u201can exciting milestone for our practice and the patients we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new facility was thoughtfully designed to provide patients with a seamless healthcare experience, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and recovery. By bringing advanced technology, urgent orthopaedic care, imaging, and physical therapy together under one roof, we\u2019re able to deliver more convenient, efficient, and comprehensive care than ever before,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Beyond the medical care, a lot of thought was put into creating a soothing space for patients, Ferguson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cInside is a point of pride,\u201d he said. \u201cIt does not feel like a conventional doctor\u2019s office. It\u2019s warm, inviting, a moment of calm and Zen before you see a doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the lights are soft, the colors are warm and while decorated, they tried to \u201cminimize excessive stimuli.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceilings are open so, \u201cthere\u2019s a sense of space,\u201d he said, and there are no glass or other barriers to the front desk.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also coffee and tea in the waiting room.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo people feel like they\u2019re in a place they wanted to be, as opposed to a place they had to be at,\u201d Ferguson said.<\/p>\n

He said all the exam rooms have a window to the outside and are painted in warm tones.<\/p>\n

The location is home to Ortho OUCH Urgent Care, Comprehensive Orthopaedics\u2019 walk-in orthopaedic urgent care service, available seven days a week for acute injuries and musculoskeletal issues. Patients have access to on-site X-ray services, casting, bracing, and orthopaedic evaluations without need for an appointment, so an alternative to emergency room visits for some orthopaedic injuries, a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor added convenience and continuity of care, the facility also includes a modern physical therapy and rehabilitation gym, allowing patients to work closely with therapists and physicians throughout every stage of recovery,\u201d a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
