A Florida shark biologist has turned her body into an underwater encyclopedia \u2014 covering herself with a record-breaking 106 shark tattoos after a childhood fear of the ocean\u2019s most feared predator became a lifelong obsession.<\/p>\n

Emily Morrison recently earned a Guinness World Record for the most shark tattoos on a woman\u2019s body, with ink depicting 71 different shark species, fossilized teeth and even a fresh shark tooth stretching from her feet to her neck.<\/p>\n

The woman known as \u201cShark Lady Emily\u201d said the obsession began after watching the 1975 blockbuster \u201cJaws\u201d when she was 8 years old \u2014 convinced she\u2019d one day become shark bait.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember telling my dad, \u2018Sharks will eat me,’\u201d Emily recalled to Guinness World Records<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emily Morrison loves that she\u2019s a living canvas for her favorite creatures. Guinness World Records<\/p>\n

Instead of comforting her, her father told her \u201cthat\u2019s ridiculous\u201d and marched the frightened child to the library and challenged her to find a real reason to fear sharks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The more Morrison learned about the ocean\u2019s most misunderstood predators<\/a>, the more fascinated she became.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always had a fascination with them \u2014 and the lack of information out there,\u201d Emily told Guinness World Records. \u201cI am obsessed with the adaptations and the evolutionary path that sharks and cartilaginous fish have endured throughout the 450 million years of existence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Morrison\u2019s passion turned into a career as a biologist and dive-tour operator. sharkladyemily\/Instagram<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are living sharks the way that they are \u2014 and how they impact their specified environments \u2014 is fascinating to me. It\u2019s never-ending information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast-forward decades, now a dive-tour operator in Venice, FL, she leads fossil shark-tooth dives off the Gulf Coast and swims alongside some of the ocean\u2019s most feared predators.<\/p>\n

Morrison says her love for sharks keeps growing and she will never learn enough about them. Guinness World Records<\/p>\n

Her first tattoo \u2014 a great white shark on her lower back \u2014 was a tribute to the movie that sparked her lifelong fascination.<\/p>\n

Like-minded shark fans can catch her showing off her jaw-dropping ink on Discovery Channel\u2019s \u201cMy Strange Shark Addiction\u201d<\/a> during this year\u2019s Shark Week, which kicks off on July 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have fed tiger sharks and great hammerheads in the Bahamas, cage-dived with great whites in Australia, swam with whale sharks off the coast of Mexico, and so much more,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Despite countless encounters with sharks, Morrison said she\u2019s never had a dangerous run-in.<\/p>\n

She won the Guinness World Record Record for the most sharks tattooed on a woman\u2019s body. Guinness World Records<\/p>\n

She isn\u2019t done yet, either.
