FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – \u2018Moxie\u2019 has been found, according to Soarin\u2019 Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The announcement comes after the organization asked for assistance<\/a> in early July when the peregrine falcon went missing from the nesting box atop the Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) Center that she and her partner \u2018Jamie\u2019 have called home each breeding season for the past 14 years. <\/p>\n

The organization shared a Facebook post<\/a> on Friday featuring a video from two local supporters showing Moxie perched beside the PNC Center in downtown Fort Wayne earlier this week. <\/p>\n

According to the organization, Moxie was likely spending time away with Jamie to \u2018rest and refresh\u2019. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so happy to see you, Moxie!\u201d the organization said. <\/p>\n

Before her disappearance, Moxie had laid two eggs, one in late March<\/a> and another in early May<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over their time nesting atop the Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) Center, Moxie and Jamie have welcomed over 30 chicks.<\/p>\n

However, this year the peregrine falcon nest was considered \u2018failed\u2019<\/a> after neither egg was viable. <\/p>\n

Soarin\u2019 Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center had previously expressed concern with Moxie\u2019s nesting behavior.<\/p>\n

Based on its observations, the organization said that it believes that Moxie may be being challenged by another peregrine falcon, distracting her from laying and interacting with eggs.<\/p>\n

As peregrine falcons age, the organization acknowledges that each breeding season will become increasingly challenging.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe treasure the time we share with them annually,\u201d the organization said.<\/p>\n

The organization did not say whether Moxie and Jamie are expected to return to their nest this year; however, the couple usually arrive annually in late winter. <\/p>\n
