San Diego Comic-Con 2026<\/a>, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that a new Ghost Rider\u00a0film is in development, hitting theaters in 2028. Ryan Gosling will star as the titular motorcycle-riding hero, with Shawn Levy directing.<\/p>\nFeige joked that he’s long been asked about when Ghost Rider \u2014\u00a0and Gosling \u2014\u00a0might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He then introduced the actor, who stepped on stage to raucous cheers. “Wow, is this really happening?” the actor told the crowd. “As you know, this is a character I\u2019ve wanted to play for a very long time.”<\/p>\n
Gosling then told the audience that “only one director” could bring Ghost Rider to the screen, welcoming Levy to the stage. The two are currently working together on the upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter (in theaters May 28, 2027), and Levy told the crowd that he and Gosling spent a lot of their downtime on set daydreaming about Ghost Rider and swapping ideas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“As Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started riffing,” said Levy (who previously directed Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine<\/a>). “And I finally said, ‘Bro, let\u2019s ride.’ So guys, we\u2019ll see you in 2028.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Start your engines.
