Marvel fans got a deeper look at Robert Downey Jr.\u2019s Doctor Doom during the studio\u2019s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.<\/p>\n

After a brief, jokey Q&A featuring Ryan Reynolds in costume as Deadpool \u2014 who is apparently NOT going to be making his \u201cAvengers\u201d debut in \u201cDoomsday\u201d \u2014 directors Anthony and Joe Russo rolled a sneak peek of the upcoming film that focused on Victor Von Doom\u2019s past with the Fantastic Four, specifically Reed Richards and Sue Storm.<\/p>\n

\u201cVictor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different,\u201d we hear Sue, played by Vanessa Kirby, tell the other Marvel heroes. \u201cHe used to be kind, used to be caring. But then everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, is then seen amongst the wreckage that Thor was shown walking near in the \u201cDoomsday\u201d trailer. Richards demands to know if Doom is responsible. Doom\u2019s response is simple.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of you have lived stolen lives. Now you must give them back,\u201d he intones.<\/p>\n

Doctor Doom was first seen in the mid-credits scene of \u201cThe Fantastic Four: First Steps\u201d looming over Reed and Sue\u2019s son, Franklin. It seems that he is targeting the children of Marvel\u2019s heroes \u2014 perhaps the impetus for Captain America\u2019s return based on the first teaser for \u201cDoomsday\u201d<\/a> \u2014 as the sneak peek ended with Thor protecting his daughter, who was first introduced at the end of \u201cThor: Love and Thunder.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI swear, you will beg for hell long before I grant it,\u201d Thor threatens to Doom. But as Doom advances with an army of Sentinels from the \u201cX-Men\u201d series, he simply responds, \u201cHell answers to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marvel fans\u2019 hype for \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d has been through the roof, as the film racked up $16.5 million in presales <\/a>in the first 24 hours of availability. Those presales were notably only for 1,000 premium format screens as part of Disney and Marvel\u2019s \u201cInfinity Vision\u201d campaign to draw moviegoers to premium screens that fall outside Imax branding. That\u2019s because Imax will be exclusively screening Warner Bros.\u2019 \u201cDune: Part Three\u201d at that time.
