Seattle&#8217;s viral rotund raccoon takes the Internet by storm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seattle City Councilmembers Alexis Mercedes Rink and Dan Strauss hosted an official proclamation designating 2026 as \u201cJimothy Summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd whereas no trash left on the streets, porch, or alleyway will be safe from the midnight munchin within Seattle so long as Jimmethy continues the hard work to lay their paws on any food scraps or cat food left unattended,&#8221; Rink read from the proclamation. <\/p>\n<p>The celebration also included a Jimothy artwork competition featuring paintings and stuffed animals by local artists<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SEATTLE, Wash. \u2014 Seattle\u2019s most famous raccoon now has an official hometown honor.
