Rick Pitino\u2019s time at Louisville<\/a> came to a controversial end amid a sex scandal that rocked the program. He\u2019s now at St. John\u2019s, where he\u2019s been able to breathe new life into a program that had struggled before his arrival.<\/p>\n

The scandal also saw Tom Jurich, who hired Pitino at Louisville, put on administrative leave. But any bad blood between the two parties seems to be gone as Jurich recently had a street near the university named after him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really wasn\u2019t upset that they fired me. Anybody can be. I\u2019m okay with that,\u201d Pitino said on CBS Sports\u2019 \u201cInside College Basketball.\u201d \u201cIt was the treatment they gave Tom Jurich. Just recently, they named the street outside of the practice facility Tom Jurich Way. So all is forgiven. All is forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitino said that he harbors no negativity toward the university where he coached from 2001 to 2017, leading them to a championship in 2013 that was later vacated by the NCAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would go back in a New York minute,\u201d Pitino said. \u201cMy staff did some things that I did not appreciate, and I have no problem with them terminating me at all. So I\u2019ve got to take responsibility for what happened, but I also take responsibility for 17 unbelievable years, three Final Fours, and a national championship.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was also complimentary of the Cardinals\u2019 current head coach, Pat Kelsey, who in his first season led the Cardinals to their first NCAA Tournament since 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201c(He) is doing\u2026an awesome job,\u201d Pitino said. \u201cI love his enthusiasm. I love what he\u2019s all about as a coach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rick Pitino says he is over his past issues with Louisville.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll is forgiven, all is forgotten. I no longer think the slightest bit negatively about the University of Louisville and I would go back in a New York minute.\u201d <\/p>\n
