HOUSTON \u2013 A suspected drunk driver was killed and another driver was injured in a head-on crash late Sunday night in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n

According to HPD, officers responded to reports of a head-on collision involving a sedan and a pickup truck. Preliminary investigators believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver of the sedan crossed the center divider and slammed head-on into the pickup truck.<\/p>\n
The sedan driver, who investigators believe was speeding and intoxicated, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
The woman driving the pickup truck was also taken to a hospital. Police said she is in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Investigators noted that the stretch of Tidwell Road where the crash occurred is dark and has a history of speeding vehicles.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
