US ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/07\/26\/world\/live-news\/iran-war-trump?post-id=cms1vz8pr000e3b6vcjvoy0oi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> said Sunday <\/a>the pause in strikes was to allow talks with Iran to develop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cms32cqzb00083b6sqqzhmfob@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">The recent dip in attacks came as Iranian and Omani deputy foreign ministers have convened in Tehran to discuss shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
