\n\tIt\u2019s official: Morgan Spector<\/a> (Black Rabbit, The Gilded Age), has closed a deal to lead Netflix<\/a>\u2018s series adaptation of The Secret of Secrets<\/a> mystery thriller novel by Dan Brown<\/a>, which comes from the bestselling author and Carlton Cuse<\/a> (Lost, Five Days At Memorial). Spector will play Robert Langdon, taking over the role played on the big screen by Tom Hanks. <\/p>\n

\n\tLangdon is a Harvard professor and world-renowned symbologist whose eidetic memory and puzzle-solving abilities help him unravel mysteries at the intersection of science and spirituality. As Deadline reported earlier this month<\/a>, Rebecca Hall<\/a> is poised to play the female lead in the series.<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the same report, Morgan\u2019s casting does not mean a departure from HBO\u2019s The Gilded Age where he stars as fan favorite railroad tycoon George Russell. Morgan would be able to do both series with proper scheduling should Gilded Age get renewed for a fifth season. (Season 4 is expected to come out this fall.)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe as-yet untitled series adaptation is said to blend futuristic science with mystical lore. In the\u00a0The Secret of Secrets novel, Robert Langdon (Spector) races against ancient forces and time to rescue his girlfriend, missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity\u2019s understanding of the mind.<\/p>\n

\n\tCuse and Brown are co-creators, and executive producers of the series adaptation, with Cuse serving as writer and showrunner. Emma Forman of Cuse\u2019s Genre-Arts also executive produces the project with Zoe Robyn, which\u00a0landed at Netflix in May 2025<\/a>\u00a0with a straight-to-series order.<\/p>\n
