Our teams, working alongside third-party specialists, are making steady progress in restoring systems safely.

“Protecting patients and providing safe care remain our highest priorities. Clinical teams continue to provide care using established downtime procedures, and decisions regarding procedures, transfers, diversions and operational processes continue to be guided by safety.

“AnMed physician offices will reopen Tuesday, July 28, for scheduled appointments. As phones, internet and computer systems remain offline, we ask that patients please bring all medications in their original containers to appointments and be prepared to confirm medical history. For urgent medication refill requests, please come by the office. Office staff will reach out in coming days to reschedule appointments canceled today.

“AnMed Kids Care and all AnMed Urgent Care locations remain open for walk-in appointments. We understand many patients have questions about data security. Because the forensic review is still in its early stages, we are not yet able to provide additional details about the nature or scope of the incident. We will share more information as we are able.”

Monday, our crews spoke with patients impacted by the ransomware attack.

Courtney Marie Ruiz was in the emergency room at the time and said the computer screens turned a blueish black.

“It just said they had, AnMed has 72 hours to pay. And if not, everybody’s information would be leaked. I have my credit card information on there to pay bills. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. It could potentially thousands of people at harm.”

Kimberly Tisi told our crew that she was admitted to the ER with debilitating stomach pain, and was there when systems went down.

“The doctor had to handwrite discharge papers to me to go to… like a Prisma or a St. Francis.” She remembers a nurse telling her, “We can’t run any of your tests, we can’t do any scans. We can’t get into anything.”

In a post on social media Monday, AnMed said:

“AnMed is currently experiencing a cybersecurity disruption that is impacting our network.
