Fremont County Coroner Randy Keller confirmed Tuesday the identity of the deceased person removed from the west side of Skyline Drive on July 20.<\/p>\n
The man, identified as 44-year-old Shawn Michael Dixon by dental records, previously went missing from his Ca\u00f1on City home in September 2023.<\/p>\n
Keller went on to note that because of the minimal skeletal remains, the cause-of-death and manner of death are still being determined. The remains will be closely analyzed in the coming months by a forensic anthropologist to fully determine the cause of death.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can still run and hopefully get some toxicology results on him also,\u201d Keller said. \u201cAnd then just with the further investigation from law enforcement, it can help us come to a better determination of cause of death.\u201d<\/p>\n
