The Federal Aviation Administration lifted a ground stop at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport that was in effect due to the severe weather affecting the Baltimore metro area.<\/p>\n

The ground stop expired at 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

According to the federal agency, the airport has an average departure delay of 15 minutes due to the original ground stop.<\/p>\n

Other airports in the region, including DCA and IAD, were also affected by similar ground stops.<\/p>\n

The weather-related ground stop was in addition to a nationwide ground stop<\/a> Tuesday evening affecting American Airlines flights due to an IT outage.<\/p>\n
