The jury in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy will tour the home where the Massachusetts mother is accused of killing her three children in 2023, according to a ruling issued by the judge Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The current owners of the Duxbury home did not want the jurors inside the property, but Judge William Sullivan, who is presiding over the case, ordered them “to allow access to the premises … for purpose of a view by the jury.”<\/p>\n
Under the order, access is limited to prosecutors and defense attorneys, Clancy, the judge, jurors and necessary court staff. The order states that no one else will be allowed on the premises while the parties are there.<\/p>\n

Jurors and the other authorized parties may look at the exterior of the home, as well as the basement and all rooms on the first and second floors. No one can touch any items or open any closets or doors, the judge said. <\/p>\n
The Massachusetts State Police and Duxbury police will secure the property before the jurors \u2014 12 women and six men \u2014 arrive. <\/p>\n
Lindsay Clancy charged in children’s deaths<\/p>\n
Clancy was indicted on three counts each of murder in the 2023 deaths of her 5-year-old daughter Cora, 3-year-old son Dawson and 8-month-old son Callan. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n
She became a paraplegic after harming herself in the immediate aftermath of her children’s deaths.<\/p>\n
Opening statements delivered<\/p>\n
In her opening statements, Plymouth County Assistant District Attorney Shanan Buckingham said the children were strangled “meticulously,” and that Clancy understood her actions and made a deliberate choice.<\/p>\n

In his opening statements, defense attorney Kevin Reddington said his client knows she killed her children but questioned what was going on in Clancy’s mind.<\/p>\n

Kids’ father, Clancy’s ex-husband takes stand <\/p>\n
Patrick Clancy, the defendant’s ex-husband and the father of the children, testified that his ex-wife appeared happy and in good spirits on the day their three children were killed but also testified that she struggled with postpartum mental health, including depression, poor sleep and frequent changes in medication prescribed by multiple providers.<\/p>\n
He testified that Lindsay Clancy’s mental health took a dramatic turn in December 2022, when she expressed suicidal thoughts and fears that “something might happen to the kids.” Despite those statements, Patrick Clancy said he never believed the children were in danger because she never showed any intention of harming them. <\/p>\n
Patrick Clancy will return to the stand Wednesday when the trial resumes. <\/p>\n
