\n\tRubber Soul<\/a>, the Beatles<\/a>\u2019 most playful and experimental album, is about to sound better than ever.<\/p>\n

\n\tToday, Apple Corps Ltd and UMG announced the Rubber Soul Super Deluxe Edition<\/a>. The special release will include improved and unreleased recordings for a total of 68 songs spread out over either four CDs<\/a> or five vinyl<\/a> LPs. The meticulously constructed package also includes an 88-page hardcover book that features a John Lennon foreword, an introduction by Paul McCartney, photos, an in-depth album background, and track notes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rubber Soul Super Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order on Amazon now in vinyl<\/a> or CD format<\/a> ahead of its Oct. 2 release date. The vinyl version<\/a> costs $229.98, and the CD format<\/a> costs $149.98.<\/p>\n

\n\tRubber Soul was the Beatles<\/a>\u2019 sixth studio album, and it saw the band getting more experimental as they grew up (and faced a tight deadline). \u201cIt\u2019s an album born out of frustration of not wanting to be little boys anymore,\u201d Giles Martin, son of the Beatles\u2019 producer George, tells Rolling Stone. \u201cIt has so much depth to it. This is the first album where they weren\u2019t trying to write a bunch of singles and deciding what should be the single.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new box set<\/a> delivers all 14 original tracks in stereo, mono, and Dolby Atmos formats. Martin and engineer Sam Okell also used the \u201cde-mixing\u201d audio technology developed for Peter Jackson\u2019s Get Back documentary to significantly improve the recording quality without losing any of its original character.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rubber Soul Super Deluxe Edition follows a series of other Special Editions that Apple Corps Ltd and UMG have released over the last several years, including Sgt. Pepper in 2017, the White Album in 2018, Abbey Road in 2019, Let It Be in 2021, Revolver in 2022, and Anthology in 2025.<\/p>\n
