{"id":793134,"date":"2026-07-30T10:24:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T10:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/793134\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T10:24:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T10:24:09","slug":"lamar-jackson-on-landing-at-69-on-players-top-100-list-i-dont-care-about-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/793134\/","title":{"rendered":"Lamar Jackson on landing at 69 on player&#8217;s top 100 list: &#8220;I don&#8217;t care about rankings&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With training camps open, list season has mercifully ended.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most significant developments in this year\u2019s collection of slow-time one-through-whatever efforts to differentiate players was the ridiculous placement of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the NFL Network players-only list of the top 100 players in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson finished at No. 69, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/lamar-jackson-falls-67-spots-on-the-nfln-list-of-top-100-players\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">down 67 spots from 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson was asked about the placement on the NFLN list during his first press conference of training camp on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is what it is,\u201d Jackson said. \u201cYou know, I play football. I don\u2019t care about rankings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the right attitude. The rankings don\u2019t mean anything. They\u2019re something for the media to write and talk about and for the fans to react to.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it\u2019s an opportunity to fashion a legitimate chip on the shoulder for the season to come. But Jackson doesn\u2019t seem to be motivated by actual or perceived slights. <\/p>\n<p>He goes about his business. And, in relation to the rest of the league, there\u2019s no way 68 other players go about their business better than him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"With training camps open, list season has mercifully ended.
