They gave us a project at just over $7.7 million to cover funding for it,\u201d Talarico said. \u201cSo that helps with cost on both sides. And long-term cost, cost to service the bus\u2026 right now with the fuel cost, electric, they are generally cheaper to repair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The electric buses will begin serving DCPS students during the upcoming school year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The district currently plans to begin with the 26 buses unveiled Thursday.
