\n\tEXCLUSIVE:\u00a0Comedian Chris Fleming<\/a> (HBO\u2019s\u00a0Live at the Palace) and Irina Shayk<\/a> (Hercules) have inked deals to join\u00a0The Catch<\/a>, Universal Pictures<\/a>\u2018 new baseball-themed romantic comedy starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine.<\/p>\n

\n\tCharacter and plot details for\u00a0The Catch\u00a0remain under wraps. Fleming remains in the fold at Universal after being tapped for a role alongside a murderer\u2019s row of fellow comics in the Judd Apatow-Glen Powell comedy\u00a0The Comeback King, out February 5.<\/p>\n

\n\tDave McCary is directing\u00a0The Catch\u00a0from a script draft by Jen Statsky and Travis Helwig. Others in the cast include Tim Robbins, Sissy Spacek, Ashley Padilla and Druski, as previously announced.<\/p>\n

\n\tOriginating as a spec from Patrick Kang and Michael Levin, the film will be produced by Stone, McCary and Ali Herting through Fruit Tree\u2019s first-look deal with Universal Pictures. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce through 21 Laps, along with Michael H. Weber, with Robin Fisichella exec producing.<\/p>\n

\n\tSenior EEVP Production Development Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell are overseeing\u00a0The Catch\u00a0for Universal. The film is slated for release in theaters on May 21.<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of today\u2019s buzziest young comics, Fleming just headlined multiple shows at Just for Laughs Montreal, where he received the Comedy Performance of the Year Award. He\u2019s the rare young comic to break through at the Emmys with a special, having been nominated this year for his HBO hour\u00a0Chris Fleming: Live at the Palace.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a stand-up, Fleming has toured theaters nationwide with\u00a0Chris Fleming Live,\u00a0Showpig,\u00a0Boba Everyday\u00a0and\u00a0Tricky Tricky. His debut stand-up special\u00a0Hell, produced by Jax and Jen Statsky, is streaming on Peacock. Recently seen on Apple TV\u2019s\u00a0Widow\u2019s Bay, he\u2019s also been seen on such shows as Abbott Elementary\u00a0and\u00a0Loot, as well as in the film\u00a0The Last Laugh, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Chevy Chase. He is repped by Mosaic, WME and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.<\/p>\n

\n\tShayk is a supermodel and actress who made her feature film debut opposite Dwayne Johnson in Paramount Pictures\u2019 2014 take on\u00a0Hercules. Over the course of her career, she has appeared on more than 150 magazine covers, including over 50 editions of\u00a0Vogue, making history as the first Russian model to appear on the cover of\u00a0Sports Illustrated\u2018s\u00a0swimsuit issue.
