\n\tGlen Hansard<\/a>\u2019s family has announced the details of his memorial arrangements following the death<\/a> of the Irish singer-songwriter earlier this week.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cA public wake will take place in the Baroque Chapel at IMMA, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8 on Monday 3rd August between 11am and 4pm. Glen will lie in repose for those wishing to pay their respects,\u201d Hansard\u2019s family wrote. \u201cGlen\u2019s funeral will take place at St. Patrick\u2019s Cathedral, St. Patrick\u2019s Close, Dublin 8 on Tuesday 4th August at 1:30pm. The funeral will be open to the public, however access inside the Cathedral will be extremely limited given the numbers expected.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe family added, \u201cMusic at the funeral will be provided by Glen\u2019s friends and family.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDue to the large amount of people expected to attend Hansard\u2019s funeral and the limited seating at the venue, a public address system will be placed outside the cathedral. The funeral will also be broadcast live on Irish news stations RTE News and RIP.IE. In lieu of flowers and gifts, Hansard\u2019s family asked that mourners instead donate to either Dublin\u2019s Simon Community<\/a>, a charity that helps homeless people, and Ukrainian Action<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe family kindly asks that the privacy of Glen\u2019s family and friends be respected at this time,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n \n\tHansard died Wednesday following a motorcycle crash<\/a> at the age of 56.
