Respiratory symptoms are uncommon. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Health experts say symptoms typically develop within 14 days after the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti mosquito. Dengue is not spread from person to person.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The agency is urging residents to protect themselves from mosquito bites by taking basic precautions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Officials say the agency continues statewide surveillance for mosquito-borne illnesses, including West Nile virus, eastern equine encephalitis, St. Louis encephalitis, malaria, chikungunya and dengue.
