State firefighting resources have been mobilized to assist local crews continuing to battle the Fairview Fire, the Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) announced on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Officials with the State Emergency Operations Center dispatched five strike teams to join containment efforts near Mead, as well as SFMO personnel.<\/p>\n

According to Spokane County Fire District 9, the Fariview Fire has grown to an estimated size of 979 acres.<\/p>\n
“This remains a fast-moving fire, and crews continue working to protect lives and property,” officials stated.<\/p>\n

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said a fire is burning in the area of he Dwight Merkle Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

Although Spokane County Fire District 9 said an emergency shelter was open at Northwood Middle School, dozens of evacuees at the location said the doors are locked and noone was there.<\/p>\n

Providence told NonStop Local it was taking seven patients from the VA center and seven from Holy Family Hospital who were forced to evacuate from wildfires around Spokane.<\/p>\n
The Barking Lot at 15825 told NonStop Local it could accept evacuated animals.<\/p>\n

Avista is telling residents in the Mead area that power may be off until Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An evacuation center for people affected by the Fairview Fire opened at Northwood Middle School, according to Spokane County Fire District 9.<\/p>\n
District 9 said the Fairview Fire’s forward progress has not yet been stopped.<\/p>\n
“Please bear with us as we work to catch up. We have multiple incidents occurring throughout the county. For the latest evacuation information, please follow ,” the district wrote.<\/p>\n

SPOKANE, Wash. \u2013 Level 3 evacuations (Go! Leave Immediately!) were issued for residents in an area near northeast Spokane on Stoneman Road due to a 50-acre wildfire.<\/p>\n
