Ella Langley\u2019s<\/a> \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d is the hit that simply will not quit. The country smash is now the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 not only of 2026, but of the past year and a half.<\/p>\n The cut holds atop the most important songs ranking in the United States, which combines streaming activity, purchases and radio airplay to show what the country is listening to. As it leads once more, \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d joins one of the most exclusive clubs in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 and ties the most successful hit from another superstar.<\/p>\n Ella Langley Reaches 15 Weeks at No. 1<\/p>\n \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> for a landmark fifteenth week. The track simultaneously celebrates its fortieth frame somewhere on the 100-position roster. That tune stands as the former One Direction singer\u2019s most successful hit on the ranking by a wide margin.<\/p>\n Ella Langley Passes Seven Historic Hits<\/p>\n Only one frame ago, \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d was tied with seven songs that each spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. By collecting its fifteenth period in charge, Langley\u2019s hit breaks away from all of them and reorders the all-time rundown.<\/p>\n That group of 14-week champions includes Whitney Houston\u2019s \u201cI Will Always Love You,\u201d Boyz II Men\u2019s \u201cI\u2019ll Make Love to You\u201d and Los del R\u00edo\u2019s \u201cMacarena (Bayside Boys Mix).\u201d Elton John\u2019s double single \u201cCandle in the Wind 1997\u201d\/\u201cSomething About the Way You Look Tonight\u201d also led the charge for 14 frames, as did Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cWe Belong Together,\u201d the Black Eyed Peas\u2019 \u201cI Gotta Feeling\u201d and \u201cUptown Funk\u201d by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.<\/p>\n Ella Langley Could Tie Three More Smashes In Days<\/p>\n It seems likely that \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d<\/a> will command the Billboard Hot 100 again next frame. Should the country blockbuster earn a sixteenth week at No. 1, it will move higher once more on the historical ranking.<\/p>\n Three songs have stepped aside after exactly 16 periods in charge: \u201cOne Sweet Day\u201d by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, \u201cDespacito\u201d by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber and Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night.\u201d \u201cOne Sweet Day\u201d achieved its 16-week run three decades ago, while both \u201cDespacito\u201d and \u201cLast Night\u201d reached the same total within the past decade.<\/p>\n Mariah Carey Still Holds the All-Time Record<\/p>\n Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d remains the longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. The holiday standard has accumulated 22 weeks in first place, though that total has been spread across seven years.<\/p>\n \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d first reached No. 1 in 2019 and has returned to the peak position during every holiday season since. It most recently ruled in January of 2026, thanks to holdover streams, sales and airplay connected to the latest Christmas season.<\/p>\n
