{"id":800241,"date":"2026-08-03T00:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T00:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/800241\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T00:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T00:59:09","slug":"mass-measles-outbreak-threatens-central-valley-after-farmworkers-left-arizona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/800241\/","title":{"rendered":"Mass measles outbreak threatens Central Valley after farmworkers left Arizona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>About 150 agricultural workers who recently left Arizona are being monitored for measles in three Central Valley counties in California.<\/p>\n<p>Fresno, Madera and Merced counties, along with the California Department of Public Health, said the workers were exposed to the highly contagious viral infection because there was a major outbreak in the part of Arizona they\u2019re coming from.<\/p>\n<p>They added that more workers will be arriving to the state in the coming days. That said so far <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourcentralvalley.com\/news\/local-news\/3-valley-counties-under-measles-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">none of the workers<\/a> have been reported to have measles.<\/p>\n<p>The workers being monitored for measles came from an area in Arizona where there was outbreak of the disease. ERIC PAUL ZAMORA<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona Department of Health Services, and the three local Central Valley health departments said they are monitoring the workers for signs of the disease. <\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the agencies said they will put in place any public health measures the situation needs.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, however, the Fresno County Health Department said the risk to the general population is low, but that the county will provide advisories and prepare.<\/p>\n<p>About 150 agricultural workers who recently left Arizona are being monitored for measles in three Central Valley counties in California.
