\n\tThe London production of \u201cSunday in the Park With George\u201d is set to go ahead as planned despite Ariana Grande<\/a> exiting the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Stephen Sondheim revival, which also stars Grande\u2019s \u201cWicked\u201d co-star Jonathan Bailey<\/a>, was scheduled to premiere at London\u2019s Barbican next summer with producers set to launch ticket sales<\/a> after Grande completed the last leg of her \u201cThe Eternal Sunshine Tour\u201d on Sept. 1 in the U.K.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, on Sunday night reps for the actress said Grande will be \u201ctaking a step back from visibility\u201d after she completes her tour \u2014 which includes dropping out of the play.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut the show must go on and a rep for producers Empire Street Productions tells Variety: \u201cThe production will open at the Barbican in summer 2027 as planned, and casting will be announced in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrande was set to star as both Dot and Marie in the revival opposite Bailey as painter George Seurat, offering \u201cWicked\u201d fans a rare opportunity to see the film\u2019s stars together live on stage. \u201cSunday in the Park With George\u201d is directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Marianne Elliot, with design by Tom Scutt. Auditions for the ensemble have been taking place in London this summer.<\/p>\n

\n\tProducers for the show said they \u201cwish [Grande] nothing but the best,\u201d adding: \u201cWe know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn recent years fans have expressed increasing concern for Grande, particularly in regards to her physical appearance. The actor and singer previously disclosed she was diagnosed with PTSD after a suicide bomber killed 22 people, including a number of children, at her concert in Manchester in 2017.<\/p>\n

\n\tAside from \u201cSunday in the Park With George,\u201d Grande\u2019s only other publicly-known commitment is a role in upcoming Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller comedy \u201cFocker-in-Law,\u201d which is set to bow over Thanksgiving. It is unclear whether Grande will still participate in the film\u2019s publicity tour.<\/p>\n
