Hours after a transformer struck wires while being transported on a tractor-trailer, officials said a Penn Hills road has reopened to traffic. <\/p>\n

The Penn Hills No. 7 VFC said in an update that Frankstown Road between Banyon and Janice drives reopened at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n

It has reopened in all directions. <\/p>\n

Part of a Penn Hills road remains closed in all directions Wednesday afternoon after an unstable 10,000-pound transformer being hauled on a tractor-trailer struck overhead wires.<\/p>\n

In a post from Penn Hills No. 7, officials said Frankstown Road in Penn Hills is closed in all directions between Banyon and Janice drives after a 10,000-pound transformer being hauled shifted and hit an overhead guidewire going from utility pole to utility pole.<\/p>\n

“There is currently NO ETA for the roadway to be reopened,” the post said. <\/p>\n
