There\u2019s not been any fun to be had at the former All Star Adventures property since the east Wichita business closed in 2024<\/a>, but that\u2019s changing this week.<\/p>\n

The new Mammoth Clubhouse<\/a>, which is on Webb Road just north of Central, is having a soft opening this week<\/a>. However, it\u2019s closed on Thursday to prepare for a Friday grand opening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were able to build around something the Wichita community already knew and loved,\u201d said Sheila Atchison, director of team development.<\/p>\n

Mammoth<\/a> is a Topeka-area company with numerous subsidiaries, including a division that\u2019s one of the largest artificial turf installers in the country.<\/p>\n

The Clubhouse is the first of its golf concepts to open. The company also is working on Mammoth Fieldhouses in Oklahoma City and Marion, Ill.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fieldhouses are much larger concepts,\u201d Atchison said.<\/p>\n

The Wichita Clubhouse is smaller because the company is using a range that was in place with All Star Adventures.<\/p>\n

Atchison said there\u2019s a chance the Clubhouse could expand into the rest of the All Stars property, which currently is listed for sale.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if it sells first, we\u2019re happy to have neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are two main components at the Clubhouse.<\/p>\n

One is what Atchison called the Flight Deck with an elevated range and 36 bays equipped with automatic ball dispensers.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never need to move your feet or bend down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each bay is covered and offers heat for colder months.<\/p>\n

The bays use the same tracking technology as the PGA uses, Atchison said, which shows the rotation of balls, their distances and flight directions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s also great for kids,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

There are games and courses for kids to play \u2014 and adults as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople can actually play courses from around the world,\u201d Atchison said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe screen makes it feel like you\u2019re actually playing the course. . . . It makes range time a lot more fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests, whom Mammoth calls athletes, can set up competitions and league play, too, \u201cso you can play against your friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bays are $25 per bay for up to five people during nonpeak times.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can hit as many balls as you possibly can in that hour,\u201d Atchison said.<\/p>\n

During peak times, the cost is $40 per hour.<\/p>\n

Walk-ins are welcome, but Atchison recommends making a reservation, especially after 5 p.m. on weekdays.<\/p>\n

The other option at the Clubhouse is Pure Putts, a modern version of miniature golf.<\/p>\n

There are three nine-hole courses and one championship practice hole.<\/p>\n

Atchison said there\u2019s high-quality turf that\u2019s similar to a golf course with changes in elevation, turf sandpits and bunkers.<\/p>\n

The cost is $15 for adults during nonpeak times and $20 during peak times.<\/p>\n

Children ages 3 to 12 are always $7.50, and kids under 3 are free.<\/p>\n

Hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

The grand opening will be 6 to 10 p.m on Friday with games and giveaways.<\/p>\n

Atchison said one thing that will set Mammoth apart is its scratch kitchen, which will offer dishes like brats, hot dogs, salads, chicken sandwiches and pizza.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s all from a scratch kitchen down to making our own mustard in house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Breakfast is served daily with acai bowls, sandwiches, wraps and burritos.<\/p>\n

There also is a full bar with signature cocktails along with a self-serve beer wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re hopeful that we become the watering hole for the Wichita community,\u201d Atchison said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to create an environment where (guests) can come play, revel, compete and have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
