STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – After asking for the public\u2019s help, the Portage County Sheriff\u2019s Office has identified the skateboarder who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Deputies responded to the 5500 block of Jordan Road in the Town of Hull around 8:30 p.m. after a caller reported a vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled. The victim sustained severe injuries and was flown to a local medical facility, according to a sheriff\u2019s office press release.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the crash, deputies located and arrested 30-year-old Town of Hull resident Samuel Milkey. The sheriff\u2019s office has referred charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing injury to the Portage County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Initially, investigators were unable to identify the victim, described as a white male in his 20s or 30s with long blond hair and a thin beard. In an updated press release, the sheriff\u2019s office says they\u2019ve learned his identity with the assistance of the public.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office was assisted at the scene by Town of Hull Fire\/Rescue\/EMS, Portage County Ambulance, the Stevens Point Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.<\/p>\n
