Three states are home to pockets of booming wage growth, a new study found. <\/p>\n

Florida<\/a>, California<\/a> and Nevada are home to the five cities<\/a> with the fastest-growing income<\/a> in the nation, according to a study<\/a> of 2024 wage trends in cities with at least 250,000 people by personal finance site SmartAsset. The study factored inflation<\/a> into each income calculation. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn many U.S. cities, median household income has outpaced inflation by a wide margin, offsetting the impact of rising costs,\u201d the study noted. \u201cIn others, however, residents are falling far enough behind to intensify the squeeze on household budgets.\u201d<\/p>\n

The study, published Thursday, found that residents of Enterprise, Nevada, saw the biggest jump in income at an estimated 18 percent. The Las Vegas suburb\u2019s median wage grew from $93,905 in 2023 to $111,128 in 2024.<\/p>\n

The next four cities were located in California, Nevada and Florida. <\/p>\n

\"Henderson,Henderson, Nevada, saw its median wage grow by a staggering 12.4 percent in 2024, rising from $84,899 in 2023 to $95,415, according to a new study by personal finance site SmartAsset (AFP\/Getty)<\/p>\n

Wages were up in Anaheim 15.8 percent year-on-year, followed by 12.4 percent in Enterprise, Nevada, 12.2 percent in Tampa, and 11.8 percent in Port St. Lucie, Florida. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Nationally, wage growth hovered around 4 and 5<\/a> percent in 2024, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, making Enterprise\u2019s 2024 figures more than triple the countrywide rate. <\/p>\n

The city\u2019s outsized wage growth has a lot to do with the diversification of work in and around Las Vegas. Whereas gambling made up around 30 percent of jobs in the area in 2006, that number is now around 20 percent, according to an April analysis<\/a> by Nevada Real Estate Group. <\/p>\n

Higher-paying jobs in healthcare, software and supply-chain management have filled the gap and boosted income in the area, the group noted. <\/p>\n

The growth has been so explosive in tech-related jobs that Nevada was named the fastest-growing tech job market<\/a> in the nation in 2026 by nonprofit CompTIA. <\/p>\n

\"OnceOnce reliant on gambling jobs for its workforce numbers, the Las Vegas metro area has seen significant growth in high-wage jobs like software engineering and supply-chain management (Getty)<\/p>\n

Indeed, the Las Vegas metro area, which includes Enterprise, saw its job market grow by 2.9 percent year-on-year<\/a> in June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, the national average showed no growth<\/a> from June 2025 to June 2026.<\/p>\n

Nationally, wage growth has declined steadily over the past four years.
