The Titans have made starting guard Peter Skoronski the highest-paid guard in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Skoronski, who has grown to become a foundational player in the Titans\u2019 continued rebuild, has agreed to a four-year extension with the organization, the team announced.<\/p>\n

ESPN reported the deal<\/a> is worth $100 million \u2014 $88 million of which guaranteed<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a reflection of the work, sacrifice and support that has helped me get to this point, and I don\u2019t take any of it for granted,\u201d Skoronski said in a statement. \u201cThank you to Ms. Amy, Mike Borgonzi and Coach Saleh for believing in me. From the moment I got here, this is where I wanted to be. I love this organization, I love this city, and I\u2019m grateful for the opportunity to continue representing this franchise.\u201d<\/p>\n

This extension elevates him to the top of the NFL\u2019s salary rankings at his position until it\u2019s inevitably the next elite guard\u2019s turn to get paid.<\/p>\n

The deal comes just days after Falcons guard Matthew Bergeron agreed to a deal worth<\/a> $96 million over four years.<\/p>\n

At an average annual value of $25 million, Skoronski \u2014 who just turned 25 on July 31 \u2014 will be one of the Titans\u2019 highest-paid players for years to come.<\/p>\n

Skoronski, who is under contract for 2026, also has an option for $19 million in 2027 \u2014 by virtue of being a first-round pick, it\u2019s an option he qualifies for \u2014 meaning this new deal will begin in 2028, according to Spotrac<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tennessee selected Skoronski with the 11th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after a standout career at Northwestern, where he earned recognition as one of college football\u2019s premier offensive linemen.<\/p>\n

At Northwestern, the Park Ridge, Ill., native was an All-American and the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2022.<\/p>\n

Since entering the league, Skoronski has become a fixture on Tennessee\u2019s offense, which took an important step in its rebuild by adding quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft.<\/p>\n

Skoronski has developed into one of the league\u2019s better interior blockers, though he has yet to make a Pro Bowl during his short NFL career.<\/p>\n

Through his first three seasons, the 6-foot-4, 313-pound guard has started in all 48 games he has appeared in. He\u2019s only missed three games overall.<\/p>\n

The Titans are looking to make a leap in 2026 after going 3-14 last season. <\/p>\n

The team \u2014 which is now led by former Jets coach Robert Saleh<\/a> \u2014 last made the playoffs in 2021 and will begin its preseason slate against the 49ers on Thursday, Aug. 13, later kicking off Week 1 of the regular season hosting Gang Green on Sept. 13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Titans have made starting guard Peter Skoronski the highest-paid guard in the NFL.
