AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – If you\u2019re looking to beat the heat while also learning a thing or two, well your public library is the perfect place to go. <\/p>\n
Including in Augusta where the Lithgow Public Library is open to anyone. They even have free memberships available to Augusta residents and at a cheap cost for others. <\/p>\n

They also have plenty of other forms of media or just quiet, air-conditioned rooms to get some work done. <\/p>\n
Currently, the library is setting up for their book sale set for the beginning of September and are asking for book donations from the public. The sale, among other fundraisers, are put together by the organization Friends of Lithgow Library who are looking to take the services even outside of the library walls. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo the Friends of Lithgow Library are holding their book sale,\u201d said Lithgow Library Director Sarah Schultz-Nielsen. \u201cIt\u2019s September 4th, 5th and 6th. All of those funds go towards programming and especially the Friends are looking to establish a book-mobile here in Augusta. There\u2019s only two other in the state, in Portland and Brunswick. Book-mobile is basically a mobile library that can go to places that people who maybe can\u2019t come here, we can go to them and offer our services.\u201c<\/p>\n
