MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A local woman is facing charges after an elderly disabled man she was receiving payment to take care of was found severely neglected, according to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.<\/p>\n
47-year-old Claudia Payne, of Mt. Pleasant, will stand trial for five counts of Medicaid Fraud \u2014 False Claim.<\/p>\n
“It is alleged that Payne was paid by Medicaid to provide caretaking services for an elderly disabled man in Mt. Pleasant between October 2023 and November 2024. Despite receiving payment, Payne allegedly failed to provide these services and left the victim severely neglected.” – Michigan AG’s Office.<\/p>\n
A pretrial date has not yet been set.<\/p>\n
