\nHave you contemplated your home star recently? <\/p>\n

Featured here, a
\nSun<\/a> partially eclipsed on the top left by the Moon
\nis also seen eclipsed by
\nearthlings<\/a> contemplating the eclipse below. <\/p>\n

This
\nspectacular menagerie<\/a> of silhouettes was taken in 2012 from the
\nGlen Canyon National Recreation Area<\/a> near
\nPage<\/a>,
\nArizona<\/a>,
\nUSA<\/a>,
\nwhere park rangers and astronomers expounded<\/a> on the
\nunusual event<\/a>
\nto interested gatherers. <\/p>\n

Also, faintly visible on the Sun’s disk,
\njust to the lower right of the dark Moon’s disk, is a
\ngroup of sunspots<\/a>. <\/p>\n

A new solar eclipse<\/a> will occur this week and give many people in
\nnorthern North America, Europe, and northwestern Africa<\/a>
\na new chance to contemplate a
\npartially eclipsed Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A thin swath of
\nEarth<\/a> from
\nGreenland to Portugal<\/a>
\nwill further experience a
\ntotal solar eclipse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

An open question is whether any
\nmeteors<\/a> from the peaking
\nPerseids<\/a> will be visible during totality. <\/p>\n
