SOMERS \u2013 A 37-year-old Somers man described as the restaurant manager of the Somers National Golf Club in northern Westchester faces a variety of felony charges following his arrest by State Police.<\/p>\n
State Police identified the suspect as David Chung.<\/p>\n
Authorities said an investigation began after troopers learned that on July 25, Chung obtained $4,800 from two individuals after claiming the money was needed to repair damage they had caused at the golf club in Heritage Hills prior to an event scheduled for the following day.<\/p>\n
On July 26, investigators returned to the club after $12,000 in business proceeds was reported missing.<\/p>\n
Four days later, while the investigation remained ongoing, State Police returned to Somers National for a reported burglary. The investigation determined that Chung forcibly entered the clubhouse during the early morning hours and stole more than $2,600 in checks and cash, as well as several golf bags containing clubs and other equipment valued at $9,500.<\/p>\n
The investigation pointed to Chung who was arrested over the weekend on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and grand larceny.<\/p>\n
Following arraignment, Chung was released on $15,000 bail pending a hearing this evening in Somers Town Court.<\/p>\n
The top felony charge carries a maximum 15-year state prison term if found guilty.<\/p>\n
