\t\t\t\t\tSean Astin, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd posted from various Boston sites during the Fan Expo.<\/p>\n

All four Hobbits from the \u201cLord of the Rings\u201d film trilogy \u2014 Dominic Monaghan, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and Billy Boyd \u2014 dined and explored Boston together this weekend, using Fan Expo Boston as a reason to get the band back together<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMyself and Elijah picked the restaurant for us to go to on Friday night, which I guess we\u2019re going to keep secret just in case we cause a scene at the restaurant,\u201d Monaghan told Boston.com previously with a laugh. \u201cBut we\u2019ll tell people about it Saturday morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Right on cue, Monaghan unveiled the restaurant in a Saturday instagram post: La Royal Cambridge<\/a>, a Peruvian spot and 2023 James Beard Award semifinalist<\/a> for Best New Restaurant.<\/p>\n

\u201cFour Halflings. Three cocktails. Two desserts. ONE great night of conversation. More to come. #becurious<\/a> shoutout to the couple in the back. Well played,\u201d Monaghan posted, referring to the couple in back of them that unintentionally photobombed the Hobbit reunion feast.<\/p>\n

The four spent the weekend in Boston<\/a>, celebrating a quarter century of all things \u201cLord of the Rings,\u201d reuniting for \u201cAn Evening with the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years\u201d Saturday at Fan Expo, and serving us a true Hobbit Second Breakfast on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother successful weekend,\u201d Monaghan posted afterward.<\/p>\n

He had some words for People Magazine, who reported that the cast looked \u201cunrecognizable\u201d<\/a> in their 25-year Boston reunion photo, along with Astin\u2019s photo of the gang at La Royale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso hi @people<\/a> I would argue that out of any cast seen in photos 25 years later we almost look exactly the same,\u201d Monaghan posted. \u201cAll four of us have been luckily blessed with slow aging skillz! What an odd headline! \u201cUnrecognisable\u201d?! Hard disagree!\u201d<\/p>\n

After Peruvian fare, the Hobbitses quest for Boston adventure continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreat American history, coming out of that part of the country. Very friendly place, and the last time I was there, I remember the restaurants being very cool. So we\u2019re looking forward to having a night out in Boston,\u201d Monaghan, 49, told me in a phone interview before the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They checked all boxes. They took some selfies with Boston statues (American history, check) and apparently dined at Neptune Oyster<\/a> in the North End, a seafood spot that\u2019s earned recent raves from the Globe, New York Times and Bon Appetite Magazine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, [breaks into song] the only brew for the brave and truuue\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Comes from then Green Dragon! The one we drink in our hometown.<\/p>\n

Yup, you know those Hobbits found Boston\u2019s historic Irish pub The Green Dragon, also the Hobbits\u2019 drinking hole and subject of Hobbit drinking song. Boyd posted a pic of the Boston pub, along with the Hobbit drinking song lyrics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And just so we can all have the song stuck in our head together \u2026 Cheers, Boston.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
