The song was written by George Jackson and Thomas E. The song was written by band members John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant.<\/p>\n<p>According to Plant, \u201cRock And Roll\u201d became a bit of a tribute to the genre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just thought rock and roll needed to be taken on again,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhino.com\/article\/essential-atlantic-led-zeppelin-rock-and-roll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">says<\/a>. \u201cI was finally in a really successful band, and we felt it was time for actually kicking ass. It wasn\u2019t an intellectual thing, \u2019cause we didn\u2019t have time for that\u2014we just wanted to let it all come flooding out.
