The Premier League<\/a> champions have been keen to sign a defender following the injury to William Saliba<\/a> and the 23-year-old Quansah, formerly of Liverpool, would be able to cover both centre-back and right back positions. <\/p>\n

The deal could yet influence the speed of any move for Enzo Fernandez<\/a>, with his former Chelsea<\/a> manager Enzo Maresca pushing for the midfielder’s signature. Chelsea\u2019s deadline of 5pm on Friday passed without City submitting their \u00a3120m bid, and the club expect Fernandez to now stay for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo<\/a>, according to reports in the Netherlands, while Spurs are also close to signing Manchester City winger Savinho and have joined Manchester United<\/a> and Arsenal in expressing interest in Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen<\/a>. Arsenal\u2019s Gabriel Martinelli<\/a> has rejected the chance to join the Turkish club as part of a deal. <\/p>\n

Voetbal now reports that Roberto De Zerbi has identified Gakpo as a major target, with an \u201cagreement in principle\u201d over a move. <\/p>\n

Cristian Romero has confirmed his departure from Tottenham, acknowledging that he was not always perfect while maintaining the club will forever hold a place in his heart.<\/p>\n

The defender leaves north London after a five-year spell to complete a 40 million euros (\u00a334.1m) move to Atletico Madrid, with a 15 per cent sell-on clause included as part of the overall package.<\/p>\n

Although the Argentina international divided opinion across 156 games due to several suspensions, he was named man of the match in the 2025 Europa League final against Manchester United, bringing Tottenham\u2019s 17-year trophy drought to an end.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, I say goodbye to a place that, for five seasons, was much more than a club,\u201d Romero said on Instagram.<\/p>\n
