Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4<\/a> is getting an open beta at the end of this month, and all platforms (including Switch 2) are invited.<\/p>\n

Activision and Infinity Ward have now provided an update, announcing the beta will also allow players to experience a campaign mission. Players will have access to the “Entrenched” mission, which can be seen in the “first look” trailer above.<\/p>\n

The open beta will get underway on 28th August 2026 and runs until 1st September 2026. This will apparently be the first time a Call of Duty beta has given players access to a campaign mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, you’ll be able to not only get a feel for how the multiplayer experience is, but also see how the blockbuster single-player experience holds up on Nintendo’s new hybrid system.<\/p>\n

Activision will also be hosting an “Early Access” beta, but as you can see in the graphic above, Switch 2 users are not included in this. You can find out more details about this upcoming beta in our previous coverage.<\/p>\n
