The footage features Chalamet\u2019s character in a thrilling ping-pong match and also shows him doing his best to explain the sport\u2019s appeal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI know it\u2019s hard to believe, but I\u2019m telling you, this game, it fills stadiums overseas,\u201d Chalamet says in the trailer. \u201cAnd it\u2019s only a matter of time before I\u2019m staring at you from the cover of a Wheaties box.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnother moment in the trailer features Chalamet trying to impress Paltrow\u2019s glamorous character. \u201cI\u2019ve never talked to an actual movie star,\u201d Chalamet says. \u201cYou know, I\u2019m something of a performer, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSafdie helmed the film from the script he co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein. Chalamet, Safdie, Bronstein, Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas serve as producers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe project reunites Safdie with A24 after the company produced his two most recent films, Good Time (2017) and Uncut Gems (2019), both of which he co-directed with brother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/benny-safdie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_benny-safdie_1\" data-tag=\"benny-safdie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Benny Safdie<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThis is Chalamet\u2019s first movie since last year\u2019s music biopic A Complete Unknown, which landed the actor an Oscar nomination for his lead role as Bob Dylan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMarty Supreme marks Josh Safdie\u2019s first solo directorial feature since 2008\u2019s\u00a0The Pleasure of Being Robbed.
