PLYMOUTH, Mass. \u2014 The trial of Lindsay Clancy<\/a>, the Duxbury mother accused of killing her three children, is entering its fourth week, with the Commonwealth resting its case Monday in Plymouth Superior Court.<\/p>\n

Jurors were given Friday off<\/a> before returning for what could be a pivotal week in the high-profile case against Lindsay Clancy.<\/p>\n

The prosecution called its last witness to the stand, Ian Whiffin, from Cellebrite. Whiffin examined Clancy\u2019s iPhone 13 Apple data the day of the murders. <\/p>\n

The prosecution has called nearly 70 witnesses in the last two weeks. <\/p>\n

Margaret Hamp was the defense\u2019s first witness. Hamp, who worked at Mass General Hospital, described working with Clancy for many years in the delivery room.<\/p>\n

Allison Ozga, Clancy\u2019s sister, spoke about her sister\u2019s mental health struggles, and observed \u201cher decline.\u201d They saw each other around the holidays and at Cora\u2019s birthday following Clancy\u2019s release from McLean Hospital. <\/p>\n

Her mother, Paula Musgrove, told the jury that in December, Clancy told her and her husband, Patrick, that she had thoughts of harming the children.<\/p>\n

The prosecution is now cross-examining Musgrove. <\/p>\n

What jurors heard last week<\/p>\n

When court was last in session, testimony focused heavily on data extracted from Clancy\u2019s cellphone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jurors were shown evidence that included internet searches related to psychosis symptoms, hallucinations, and suicide in the days leading up to the killings.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors also presented crime scene video from inside the Clancy family home.<\/p>\n

Among the most emotional moments was the introduction of a photograph showing two of Clancy\u2019s children<\/a>, Dawson and Cora, posing with a backyard snowman. The picture was taken just hours before the murders, according to testimony.<\/p>\n

A diary-style note written by Clancy<\/a> was also entered into evidence. In the note, she described struggling to feel connected to one of her children and wrote that she wanted to be happy.<\/p>\n

Legal experts weigh significance of note<\/p>\n

Legal analyst Elyse Hershon said each side could interpret the journal entry differently.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis note corroborates one piece of the prosecution\u2019s theory, which is that she was an overwhelmed mother, she resented her kids, and she didn\u2019t want to continue like this,\u201d Hershon said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Hershon noted the defense may view the document as evidence of Clancy\u2019s awareness of her mental and emotional struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s great for the defense. It shows that she\u2019s human, she\u2019s aware of how she felt,\u201d Hershon said.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next?<\/p>\n

Monday marks the 14th day of testimony in the trial.<\/p>\n

Court is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m., with prosecutors expected to continue presenting witnesses and evidence as they work to conclude their case before the defense begins its own presentation.<\/p>\n

The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court.<\/p>\n
